What is hay fever?
Hay fever, also known as allergic rhinitis, is a common type of allergy that can cause symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, nasal congestion and itchy, red eyes.
There are two types of hay fever:
- Seasonal hay fever: This type of hay fever typically occurs in the spring and summer months when airborne allergens, such as pollen, are more prevalent.
- Perennial hay fever: This type of hay fever can occur at any time of the year and is usually caused by indoor allergens such as dust mites, mould spores, and/or animal hair.
